Nails of all the pets should be regularly trimmed and especially of cats as they have a scratching habit. While trimming the nails, be careful not to cut them too short and cause bleeding.
Pets need to be bathed from time to time. But frequency of bathing of each pet varies. Be careful not to get water and shampoo in the ears, eyes and mouth when bathing the pet. Put cotton balls in the pet’s ears to help prevent water from getting in the ear canal.
The pets need to be brushed out to make sure there are no knots in the furnishings. Knots are big problem in cats and dogs and more so in long haired cats. Most of the pets enjoy being brushed. A pet’s minimum brushing needs depend on hair type.
While drying your pet, don’t rub but squeeze out the excess water to help prevent tangling. You can also use a drier. Your dog’s ears can be a haven for bacteria and yeast if not kept clean, so regular cleaning of your pet’s ear is important.
Pets with continuously growing hair typically need their hair cut depending on the breed of the dog and the style of the cut.
The basic pet grooming tools include curry or curry brush shedding blade, scissors and clippers, stripping combs, slicker brushes, rakes, coat king, stand dryers.
Pet grooming refers to hygienic care and cleaning of a pet, as well as a process by which a pet’s physical appearance is enhanced. It decreases chance of various health problems.
